The camp was visited by students from Peterstown and Mountain View Elementary Schools and provided information about the sons of confederate veterans and local history in relation to the war between the states.  One of their goals is to help people understand what our nation when through with the civil war and the reasons why the south wanted to leave the union.  They demonstrated to the students the distinct roles of authentically dressed and equipped confederate and federal infantry, calvary and artillery soldiers.
