“Horses Healing Heros” is the purpose of this NPO located in Sinks Grove, WV. Executive Director, Michelle Miller, provides an overview of the program. “Four legged therapists” freely help veterans, First Responders, and their families cope with and process trauma, therefore allowing participants to live calmer and more productive lives. Each class is open to four to six riders and lasts eight weeks long with weekly, two-hour sessions. The classes begin with basic horse care, ground work, and eventually riding in the corral. Students may opt for trail riding later on during their training. There are multiple classes available per year with the next one beginning July 1, 2023.
