| The Monroe County Public Library was first organized in 1947 by the Farm Women’s Club. The main floor of the library houses books, videos, periodicals, and other materials as well as Internet accessible public use computers. The lower level contains a large meeting room and the Agnes Campbell Roles Learning Center. Library services include interlibrary loan, fax and copier use, free income tax assistance, GED preparation classes, basic computer classes and literacy tutoring. The library also houses a limited amount of genealogy materials. Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Closed Thursday, Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:30 a.m. - 12 noon.

The group also processes grants for natural stream restoration within the water shed area. Restoration of historic buildings and sites, oral history recording, historic chain of title research and education is on the plate for the near future. FOTSC, Inc. plans to be in a position to assist owners of historic structures as well as other groups to secure funding for restoration projects.
